Skilled Worker Immigration Act

• The Skilled Workers Immigration Act (FEG) came into force on March 1, 2020. The law regulates the immigration of skilled workers from third countries. This eliminates the so-called positive list for professional qualifications and the priority check by the Federal Employment Agency. However, the Federal Employment Agency has a different role within the FEG.
  

New entry options through the Skilled Workers Immigration Act (FEG)

• Applicants from third countries need a visa to enter Germany.
  
  
• So far, only people with academic degrees have been granted a job search visa in Germany. Now, under certain conditions, professionally qualified people are also allowed to enter the country to look for a job.
  
  
• The FEG also enables people to enter Germany for a search for vocational training, for recognition of foreign professional qualifications, or for post-qualification. Further information about visas and entry into Germany can be found under Visa Service.
