The academic and professional qualification in IT is considered a non-regulated profession and, as an exception, IT specialists from the third country with “pronounced professional knowledge” can enter Germany without recognition. For practice their profession in Germany need a recognition.

Scientists from third countries have the option of entering Germany with three types of visa:

Visa to work for skilled workers according to §18a

Requirements

  • Working contract
  • Notification from Job Center that you fulfill the working condition in Germany
  • Passport with validity over 2 years
  • Evaluation of your Qualification
  • Presentation of the financing ability through the agreed salary.
  • Salary over 30.000 Euro.

EU Blue Card according to § 18b Abs. 2 AufenthG

Requirements

  • Working Contract
  • Notification from Job Center that you fulfill the working condition in Germany
  • Passport with validity over 2 years
  • Evaluation of your Qualification
  • Presentation of the financing ability through the agreed salary.
  • Salary over 55.000 Euro

Visa to look for a job in accordance with Section 20, Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Residence Act

Requirements

  • Plan for a job Seeking in Germany (ex. Interview, applying process)
  • German Language at least A2
  • Passport with validity over 2 years
  • Applying for Evaluation of your Qualification
  • Presentation of the financing ability:
  • Open a blocked account with about 10.000 euros.
  • Duration of this Visa  6 till 8 Months.

You are allowed to work up to 10 hours per week.
